This is exactly what I wanted to hear. I was saying to a coworker yesterday "If the Remake is just the same dated graphics with a fresh coat of paint and fully-rendered FMV cutscenes, then WHAT THE FUCK, SQUEENIX?!"

To be honest, that was what I was kind of hoping for if for no other reason than to see the fanatics go nuclear.

Highlights: Not just an updated port, as they admit that parts of it are quite dated. They still wanna remain faithful enough to the original so you still "know" you're playing FFVII, but they want it to "evolve." Production has already begun on the game.

FF7 is my favorite of the "3D era" FF games, but my second favorite overall. (Number one would have to be FF6.)

I'll definitely be getting this, though, no matter what. Heck yeah, been waiting twenty gorram years for this.

I liked it, but FF9 is my favorite of the 3D games, with 5 being my favorite overall.

7 was my first FF game and I'm most definitely preordering in full as soon as I can, I'm playing the original now. That's something I'd never thought I'd say, but they really needed to do this. A ton of us were waiting for this ever since the PS3 "tech demo", I'm glad to see they've finally stopped screwing around and did this already.

They really should have done this sooner, I don't get the "let's not make things that will sell" mentality but honestly I've never really played number 7 until recently on steam, I'll finish it some day but I much prefer earlier games in the series.

I want a chrono sequel. I want pc ports of symphony of the night and shadow of the colossus and I want final fantasy 3/6 on my 3ds
