He's being questioned by police? Stop the questioning and smack him upside the head for gosh sakes. He could have killed the guy. Hopefully Germany has a 'reckless endangerment' law they can charge him with although 'attempted manslaughter' would be better. What a frelling ass!Figers are vicious I tell ya. They crawl up your leg and steal your belly button lint.
I'm a case study.

Hey now, give the boy a break, I know of times I would have killed just to get some shut eye.
But yeah, I find it hard to believe someone could be THAT stupid. I mean, if it was like, a kid, I MIGHT be understanding cause perhaps the kid doesn't understand what the machine does... But when you're a teenager? You should know not to touch ANYTHING.

Someone get this self-centered brat some earplugs!
I agree, he should have known that his actions could have killed the man. He's old enough to understand such things. "Attempted manslaughter" or "reckless endangerment" or similar charges should be filed.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

Hmmm...
Perhaps if that git needs quiet sleep for the rest of his life they should just puncture his eardrums.....slowly...
I'd consider what that tard did to be attempted homicide regardless of what the reason was. I hope they jail the f**cker.

While it seems outrageous on its face, it might be that there's more to the story.
After all, the kid was also a patient in the ICU, recovering from a car accident. It's very probable that he wasn't in a condition to think clearly, either as a result of his accident or of pain medication.
I can't imagine anyone deliberately risking another's life just to get some sleep. On the other hand, I can imagine a doped-up kid waking up, staggering around until he found the source of the noise, and pulling the plug to make it stop.
Hard to make a judgment on the limited information we're given. It's possible he's an uncaring, psychopathic idiot; but it seems more likely he wasn't playing with a full deck at the time. Of course, both could be true.Lack of freedom can be measured directly by lack of stupid. --Penn Jillette

I agree with KaeZoo. The kid was in ICU so he must have been pretty banged up and on some serious meds. I know I did strange things while recovering the the hospital after an accident I had--things I don't even remember doing. I don't think someone could ever do that, let alone a kid.
But I've been wrong before.

First the U.S. then Germany. If they start unplugging heart moniters in Japan, I'm signing up for a house in the Ghost Zone. Should be more peaceful.Quoth ladyklack View PostSounds to me like Princess-Snake's customers have gone to germany

You can't help that. We're all mad here. Every fucking one of us.

Yeah. Those things have insanely loud battery powered alarms as well as battery backup in case they get unplugged by mistake (or on purposeQuoth AFpheonix View PostI'm sure the monitors going off after the machine was unplugged finished waking him up.
).
The best karma is letting a jerk bash himself senseless on the wall of your polite indifference.
The stupid is strong with this one.
