I have been a Sprint subscriber for nearly 6 years now and im in the process of writing them a complement letter for this. I think this is the best thing a company has done in ages. Get rid of the trash people!

Too bad the media doesn't like Sprint. All the articles I've seen are written in a negaitve manner.
Interesting how the whole "unlimited web isn't unlimited" campaign with Verison got shrugged off by the big media.
Although the media has never liked Sprint.

But if you google the story there are TONS of "customers" complaining about this saying Sprint is all about profit and they don't care about their customers and Sprint is trying to shift blame on customers, etc. It's great. I feel like getting a bag of popcorn and watching this all go down

I feel like doing the same thing. Every day I hear this kind of thing in my call center, where the company cares nothing about its customers, only about raking in their money. Yet, it always seems to be the troublemaking SC's who make this kind of claim. The ones that just pay their bill on time and never call in are the ones who don't make opinions like this. We deal with customers who don't call in for years and years, and if they do, it's about something out of the blue. My uncle has had his phone service since 1978, and that was the last time his credit information was updated! He has never called about his bill!Quoth MrSunshineState View Post

People do realize that Sprint (like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Alltel, Cricket, Sears, Best Buy, B&N's, etc..) are COMPANIES?
They're HERE TO MAKE MONEY. Show me a large corporation like those that are not here for the sole purpose of making money (OK, the Red Cross and Salvation Army aside, but even that is getting questionable).
Show me a large corporation who doesn't care about profits and I'll show you where you are wrong.

I think Sprint is doing the right thing. The article I read stated that the customers they dropped were calling customer service forty to fifty times a month!
That's almost 2 phone calls per day. Wrap that around your brain... who the hell has time to call every day...let alone more than once per day!
People like that are definitely a drain on resources and need to be dropped.I will not shove “it” up my backside. I do not know what “it” is, but in my many years on this earth I have figured out that that particular port hole is best reserved for emergency exit only. -GK

You would be surprised. One lady I recall, who we'll call Ms C, would call in to Bellsouth twice, sometimes three times a day. She was so awful that she knew each and every manager's name, and when she called, she would very rudely demand to be transferred directly to whichever manager's name she called out. Voice mail was so full because of this lady and it caused such a headache on these managers. In time, notes were added such as "transfer only to so & so's line at ext....., do not discuss with this customer". This was noted to be done even if she requested someone else's extension.Quoth DesignFox View Post

My guess is it's people like this that Sprint has targeted for termination. People that call 40 to 50 times a day more than likely are the SC's who do nothing for the company except cause headaches and trouble, let alone cause no profits to come in. Companies are there to make money, not handhold and coddle people who feel they're owed more than the average Joe.

I might. If I had a problem that I was trying to get fixed, and it wasn't working. However, I'd like to think that I wouldn't be sucky about it.Quoth DesignFox View Postwho the hell has time to call every day...let alone more than once per day!Unseen but seeing

Exactly. The key is, I'd call in a few times a day (like I did when Comcast wouldn't cancel service to an address I no longer lived at, even though I'd already started service at my new placeQuoth BeckySunshine View PostI might. ) but after a few days/weeks of this, I'd give up and get out. it's not worth the headache if it takes that many calls.
Which, to me, means Sprint does have a point. If after that many calls, they can't make you happy, they aren't going to make you happy in what they term a reasonable manner."In the end I was the mean girl/or somebody's in between girl"~Neko Case

A company's interest in profits isn't based on how much the CEO makes.Quoth Hon'ya-chan View PostCostco? I think the CEO doesn't even break the Half-million mark in salary.
Perfect example: Steve Jobs of Apple.
He loves to brag at how he does his job at Apple for free, he gets no salary. Which is correct, he just gets a seven to eight figure bonus every year PLUS his salary from Pixar (and the bonuses from that).
They can manipulate their pay to make more money, but make it look like they're earning less.
Also, if Costco didn't care about profits, how come you have to buy a membership to shop there (plus, a lot of the wholesale club "deals" are not really deals if you shop around).
