Why in the hell would this be "unconstitutional"??? Uh, doesn't the owner of his/her PRIVATE PROPERTY have the right to prohit anyone from entering their premise???? I know that I dont want someone on MY property where I can't order him/her to leave and legally there aint a damn thing I can do about it! That's ridiculous. Soooooo, if I choose to sell some junk of mine on eBay does that mean I'm bound by the Constitution to serve ANYONE that simply offers to buy it first??? That's bullshit and so stupid. If they had a law like THAT governing entering on private property then that would mean that if someone tresspassed on MY property (aka my home) then I would have to allow them to remain on my property for as long as they damn well please because they're either black, or a teen, or a woman, or Mexican, or whatever some sleazy local politician or lawyer says. Kinda defeats the purpose of the "American Dream" of owning your own property dont it? You wouldn't even own it. Everybody else does. Well then let the taxpayers pay the lease/taxes and other upkeep on the mall, I say.
Sounds like Mayfair Mall in Milwaukee, which always seems to have to have a problem with kids hanging around and starting fights.
Last winter there was an incident where a kid was walking around brandishing a gun, and when security went to take it from him the gun ended up falling from the second floor onto the first floor, where thankfully it didn't go off or there was someone below waiting for it.
Anybody 17 and under has to be accompanied by an adult 21 or over after 2 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Of course, people in Milwaukee cried racism when this policy was instituted. But meanwhile I can still go there and not have to worry about the roving gangs of kids so much.

Technically it's agiesm. Sweet sweet ageism.
Wayside2525's comment makes me sad, poor dear has lost his sanity due to SCs
I'm all for it even though I don't live there. The mall I worked in when I was at BBV had a theater and an ice cream shop. People would dump their gangs of obnoxious, vandalizing, fighting, theiving teens off early in the evening and not come back for them until midnight.
I had to call the police so many times that the dispatchers and most of the police around here know me by name. I was constantly running them out of the store. Eventually, a good deal of them realized I am, "a bitch," and quit coming in. But there was always a few that had to come in and try stuff.
It's too bad Teenager Herding isn't a marketable skill...
"I don't want any part of your crazy cult! I'm already a member of the public library and that's good enough for me, thanks!"
A couple years ago there was a fatal stabbing in one of the malls in Cambridge; far as I can recall, it was some stupid teen gangbanger fight on a Friday night.
I'm all for a ban like that, personally. Especially in areas with fairly high wigger/wannabe populations as it's almost a certainty that the rabid packs prowling the malls then would be up to nothing but trouble..

My best friend always used to get that way when he wouldnt get his own way growing up. His dad used to joke about it and would point to his wife and say, "She's bitch. I'm asshole!"
Also, I should point out that these companies are legally liable themselves if anything happens to their customers. For example, Derek goes to the mall to buy some shoes. Derek gets jumped and gets his jaw broken. The mall's owners are legally responsible for Derek's medical bills. I'm sure the mall owner's insurance company will eventually get fed up with processing these kinds of idiotic claims and the owners will be forced to do something or have their insurance drop them, I assume.
The Mall of America has the rule that after 4pm on fri/sat/sun, no one younger is 16 is allowed in unless accompanied by an adult 21 & older and there are security guards at every mall entrance (including the ones from the stores that have outside exits) and they WILL stop you and ask for ID. No ID, no entry. 10 kids max per one adult. This was done in 1996 (good thing I had just turned 16 that year!) and so far, no one has cried about 'civil rights'.

There are malls in town I refuse to go to. Reason: Full of loitering teens and thugs.
Then there are malls in town I always go to. Reason: No loitering teens or thugs.
I'm can guar-on-damn-tee I spend more money on the average than a loitering teen or thug. I am a professional, middle aged broad with a taste for nice clothes, good books, and a shoe fetish. I have a toddler who I like to outfit in same. The thug free places get my money, the others don't. It is simple economics.
I love how so many of these kids who spout about their "rights" and "the constitution" wouldn't know what these things were if you rolled them up and beat their butts with them. It's private property. It's the mall's constitutional right to run their private property as they see fit. Even I dont' have a "right" to go there. I am allowed to be there so long as I behave. If I don't, they will throw me out, too. If enough middle aged broads with shoe fetishes cause trouble, we will be banned, too. That's simple economics as well.
Just the other evening I was at the mall to pick up a couple of pairs of jeans. I was going to stop at the food court and grab a cheesesteak, but once I got in there I realized the place was crawling with thuggy gangbang douchebag kids. I left and got a burger on the way home. At that moment I didn't really think about it, because I was thinking about food, but their presence made me NOT spend my money there. I wish so much that retailers and restaurants would think about how much money they lose so as not to violate the "rights" of these little bastards.
I fully support any businesses right to deny entry to anyone they feel is hurting their ability to attract customers and make money.
If I was the owner of that mall I'd simply threaten to close the whole damn thing down and set up shop in another city. At least (as of yet) there's no constitutional law saying they can't close the business down because they MUST be THERE to serve them.
