I had one of these come into the shop today for recycling but....I couldn't just let it go.

It still works!! I've named it squishy & it shall be mine.

4 Mb of ram & a smokin' fast 25 Mhz processor

Reloaded Win 3.1 on it & it even has a VGA output!! Cost in 1991 a mere $4,795. Probably in $US...so prorated to present funds...Hmmm...7 Grand?

It has a modem I'm taking bets if I can get it online

    Compaq Aerio Laptop - 386 12 mHz, 12 MB RAM, 40 MB drive, PCMCIA external 3.5" floppy.. MS-DOS 5 (I think...)
Used until a few months ago to play DOOM and run Desktop Dyno in the garage.. Screen finally died, but I bet the guts still work.
No, you have to FIX it before it will work again...

I had a "Havoc", at least I think that is what it was. I know that is what came up on the screen when you turned it on. You still had to use a 'boot up" disk, which was the big 5"x6" black ones with the hole in the middle.

I could only play games on it. I think my favorite was "Apple Cider Spider" which was, now that I think about it, a predecessor to Donkey Kong. Instead of a monkey, you had a little spider crawling from vine to vine in an apple cider factory.

There were other games, but I don't remember much of them. I don't know what happened to that computer. When I had to move after my grandma died, I think my dad got rid of it. But it hadn't worked for a long time anyway.

Dang.... I thought my 400Mhz Compaq was bad. It's still running Win98, and doesn't see much use lately. Not sure what I'll do with it, probably turn it into a Wolfenstein machine. Since I scrapped my dead Gateway, and the 300Mhz junker, that's the slowest machine in my fleet. Well, unless you count my crappy Dell laptop. It's about 13 years old, has no CD drive, and the network card is shot. No sound, and the screen sometimes flakes out.

Well...This thing is still running & I have named it "Squishy" & it shall be mine. It is about as smart as a small jellyfish. I just let it run with the screen saver. Everyone loves it because it's just...so...friggin'...dumb.
