Elderly woman smashes up Comcast office with hammer...

Yeah well did you see WHY she did it. Consdering that fact that Comcast is a monopoly that continues to grow unchecked and then takes advantage of it with lousy service and there's NOTHING the average consumer can legally do about it. We live in a democracy of a nation that basically says that if the system we live in does nothing but put the screws to us, we have the right to overthrow that system and set up a new one that does work.
I should add that, although a great deal of us Americans constantly scream about our rights and them being violated, very few of us actually exercise all of them when they can be applied.Last edited by ditchdj; 10-09-2007, 09:09 PM.

One of the reasons I collect "illegal" things like swords and shuriken. They're illegal to carry outside of my house (even in my car) unless I'm transporting them to my home or the home of their new owner, in the case of my selling them. Of course, I can't carry them concealed (tough not to do with shuriken) under any circumstances, but as soon as I get a weapons permit (need to find out what class I need first and go about a long process to get it) you can bet I'll be carrying something just because I can.Quoth ditchdj View PostI should add that, although a great deal of us Americans constantly scream about our rights and them being violated, very few of us actually exercise all of them when they can be applied.
For now, I've got a hardwood daito that I can legally carry (it is just a wooden stick after all) but I tend not to as it'd get in the way in class and the like. And because I'm still at University so there are likely rules in place at certain times of the day when even wooden sticks beyond a certain length are disallowed.
A couple more years and you'll all see my picture in the Boston Globe with some BS about how I'm a "danger to the public" for exerting my right to keep and bear arms, entirely because said arms won't be guns or any typical weapons of the day.

Even though our area has only been "served" by Comcast for a short time after they purchased Adelphia, anyone who goes through our residential areas will notice quite a few satellite dishes on the houses here. It would stand to reason that if Adelphia/Comcast were such a good company, those dishes wouldn't be there to begin with."Well, ergo cogitum daltitum e pluribus shut your piehole." -Mike Rowe

I've always wished the cable company would blow up, just like I wish every single day that some chemical would go array at the factory and the whole place would blow to smitherines.........and I DID consider smashing my cable box and returning it to the cable company to show my disapproval of how they handle customers and how they secretly increase service charges without warning....
But did I?
No.

Well, I DID turn my old DSL router into little bitty pieces and photographed them. I never bothered to send the pics to my telephone company though. I smashed my modem simply for stress relief.Quoth blas87 View Postand I DID consider smashing my cable box and returning it to the cable company to show my disapproval of how they handle customers and how they secretly increase service charges without warning....

Comcast is the reason I now have a dish. I will never go back to Comcast.Quoth chops View PostIt would stand to reason that if Adelphia/Comcast were such a good company, those dishes wouldn't be there to begin with.
The following has nothing to do with Comcast but does have something to do with the destruction of property.
My son's VCR never worked right and he never bothered to return it to the store. One day he got so sick of it that he decided to run over it with his big ass truck. I got to help by placing the VCR in front of his wheel. He drove over it again and again and again.

Don't know about "innocent". This rep first made the couple wait in the lobby for two hours for a manager, then never bothered to check on them. But again, this couple could have avoided this mishap had they done something like ask the rep, "How much longer are we going to be waiting?" Who actually sits in a lobby for two hours waiting on someone without getting huffy in between?Quoth LizaMarie View Postwow. that's pretty hilarious. I do feel bad for the innocent reps that got caught in the furor, but it makes for an excellent story!
