At my store the safe is located in the locked cash office. At least I think it's there.

Plus we have an armed car come at least once a day to pick up money.

So not only do we have a clueless, unobservant manager here, but maybe also a design flaw in the store if the safe is in such a place that total strangers can easily gain access to it.
