I assume from that bare mattress that they are in the middle of "helping" you make the bed?

Why are cats so fascinated with that whole process? Usually huge billowing things descending on their empty little heads freak them out, but if it's a sheet......

I've almost always had multiple cats around and invariably at least one of them (usually all) thinks the highlight of a washday afternoon is plopping their fuzzy butt down in the middle of the mattress to get smothered by the bottom sheet, then the middle of that to have the top sheet land on them, then repeat for blanket layers.

Yup. Sam especially likes to jump all over the mattress when I move it around to get at those corners, and I have to chase him off the lower boxspring before pushing the top part back into place. XD

Actually, that's his common expression. He's really a very sweet and easygoing cat (except when he wants attention and then he wants it like yesterday, as my oft-clawed legs exemplify).
