    RIP, Gallagher. We shall smash watermelons in his honor.

    Leo Anthony Gallagher, aka "Gallagher," has passed away at 76 of organ failure, following an extended illness after multiple heart attacks. May he rest in peace.

    Gallagher was the first comedian that I started to follow, he was the first that made me think about how people use language to befuddle and confuse the public (before I ever heard George Carlin talk about the same, because I was too young to access any of Carlin's work).

          In the late 90s, we had some expansion going on at our airport, and as a result of the noise complaints from the expansion, our Mayor quite seriously suggested 'We move the deaf people to the airport' . A couple months after that happened, Gallagher had a show in town, that me and my Wife went to. When he made the same comment in his act, he got such a big roar from the crowd, that it stunned him for a second, and someone in the front row had to explain why he got such a big reaction.

          Just sliding down the razor blade of life.
