Do I really have to beg for this to be as Fratching free as possible?
    I don't see how that's possible.

So, as a convicted felon Trump can still run for President, but he cannot vote in that election. How ironic.

I don't remember if the falsifying records trial was in State of NY or Federal court, though.
The charges were brought by the New York DA. They would be state.

This makes me more afraid than it does relieved.

If the trial is not a Federal one, he cannot. The President can only pardon Federal crimes. Some of the other ones he is charged with will be Federal cases, but at least one (the GA election interference case, I believe) is not.

Well there is nothing to prevent someone running for President-in 1920 Eugene Debs ran for President as a Socialist whilst being imprisoned(he managed 3% of the vote) and promised that he would pardon himself if elected. Which begs the question if Trump were to be imprisoned and elected President if he would similarly be able to pardon himself?

    Good luck with that.

It will be interesting to see what comes out of the sentencing. Even more interesting will be how it affects the election. Can a president serve his/her term from a jail cell? I've seen a couple of articles on that, There is no precedent, and nothing in the Constitution that would disqualify him for these charges. Anyone have any insights?
