Televangelist Jimmy Swaggart dies at 90

"I've never wished death on anyone, but I have read some obituaries with great satisfaction."

An acquaintance used to live just down the road from him. According to said acquaintance, Jimmy was known for spending inordinate amounts of money on "hookers and blow". Then crying crocodile tears when he was caught, so he could get more money from his followers and do it all again. Don't know if it's true, but the ***hole part of me wants to believe it.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged.
One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world.
The other, of course, involves orcs." -- John Rogers
