How about carrying pepper spray? I saw a new clip in which a tow truck guy was getting ready to tow a car and some jerkoff and his woman got out of their car to attack the tow truck guy because he was holding up traffic. A good blast square in the eyes actually calmed him down pretty good and the guy was able to tow the car and get out of there. He said he carries the mace on him specifically because of idiots like him.

But really, anything can be used effectively, provided you know what to do..
How dangerous to a person is ammonia-water? That could end up biting you in the ass later if it's pretty bad.

Don't know and in all honesty, don't really care. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

While I wouldn't do this to someone for simply insulting me or talking trash, if I honestly thought I was in real danger, I wouldn't hesitate to do whatever I could to stop the attack. And there's no cap on that, either. I'm not going to get hurt or killed to keep the attacker from getting hurt or killed, if you follow me.

I'm appalled as well. My old manager had a mini pepper spray bottle on her keychain and she even advised me to go get my own and bring it to work every day. She also advised lacing my keys between my fingers and always having my guard up on my way out.
