Just when you thought humanity couldn't get any worse...

A guy is sueing another guy...

FOR TAKING HIS BOAT TO RESCUE PEOPLE AFTER KATRINA!!!

This guy wants $12,000 because the guy took the boat to save people, not because he was a good guy, but because the guy wanted to promote his law firm.

The guy says, yes, he took the boat, because it had the keys in the ignition. And, no, at the time, he was more worried about saving lives than remembering where he got it.

The boat was half submerged at the time, so if he hadn't taken it, it would have probably sunk before the owner would have known different. But it wasn't returned, and he wants the amount that his insurance wouldn't pay.

    I just can't believe it!!

I don't know what Louisiana's laws are. But during Katrina wasn't martial law in effect allowing confiscation of vehicles for use of rescue? I'm sure that wasn't the only boat taken.
I've lost my mind ages ago. If you find it, please hide it.

Makes sense to me. If the guy stole his boat to rescue people, it's still theft and he didn't even bother to give it back.

It's not like he kept it. When he couldn't go out for more people, other took the boat to search. And after everything, I doubt he could even remember where it came from.

I'm with Jenni - doesn't matter if there's Martial Law or not - there were people who would have died had there been no one with a boat willing to pick them up.
