Reporter doctors a laptop's BIOS to make it broken but allegedly easy to fix and takes it to three chains to see if the technicians identify the problem.

Doesn't surprise me. Circuit City and Best Buy are sales oriented, so they typically take their lower profit staff and stick them in there to sell more.

And let's not forget CC's treatment of veteran staff. If they did that to the techs as well, it's no wonder that happened.
