  • So, is there an idiot at Burger King?

Anyone see the commercial where the couple is at the drive thru window, asking for items, and the guy behind rams their car and pushes them forward, wanting his steakhouse sandwich or whatever......

After that "We're not selling the whopper anymore" stunt, I really didn't think BK could get anymore stupider. At least they had the Robotic King whoring out the Breakfast wrap. But they threw a curveball.

I swear, when it comes to brain-damaged commercials BK seems to head the list!

Burger King has always had crappy commercials. When The Lion King was in theaters, they had these horrid commercials where the employees and customers were singing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" (one of the most irritating songs ever written), wrenching the order microphones around and everything.

If the commercials are getting worse and worse, I shudder to think what their next round will be like...

I saw that commercial. I think BK jumped the shark when they when they introduced that creepy mascot of theirs. Unfortunately they've gotten steadily worse, especially with those 'Whopper Jr.' and 'King 3000' commercials.

                'King 3000' commercials.
Hey, I like the King!! Okay, he's scary as fuck, but still, better than some SC using his car as a lethal weapon.

Gah. What is up with the really stupid/awful burger joint commercials?

I can't stand the Burger King commercials, and the Carl's Junior commercials make me want to never eat there again.

Come to Burger King! Our customers are crazy and will cost you thousands of dollars in auto repairs! And you won't get the sauce you need, either!

Heh. I never heard of Carl's Jr. until I saw the movie Idiocracy (brought to you by Carl's Jr.). What's so bad about their commercials (I have a hard time believing that they'd be worse than the BK ones)?

The BK ones are creepy and obnoxious. The Carl's ones are gross and a bit offensive.

                            Well... This one's just offensive.

                            This one's more objectification.

This one's your typical Carl's commercial. They had a tagline of "if it doesn't get all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face." Every commercial features good-looking 20-somethings (mostly model-type women), who have the most disgusting eating habits, often stuffing fries into their mouths while still chewing a massive bite of burger and then taking a swig of soda without swallowing first. Nasty.

But at least they know their ads are disgusting...

There are Hardee's ads that are in the same vein. Only the Hardee's ads I saw seem low-rent compared to the Carl's ones.

Carl's Jr. sells to a crowd that wants very, very large sandwiches. They're selling to those folks who lash against health food. Personally, I think they hit their target audience pretty well with their commercials.

I like the one where the buffalo chicken eating guy is leering at the waitress ... only to find out that he's with his girlfriend. Oops.

And, if objectifying women didn't sell product, they wouldn't do it. 20-something guys like "hot chicks". So, commercials use that. It works.

But, it is sad that they do? Oh yeah.

Still, trust me, you'd rather see some of those blondies in mini skirts on the TV than me in the same outfit. There's not enough brain bleach in the world to save you from such a sight!
