Where in the article did it state that the girl had turned into a "raging whore" or a "slut"?
She's a 16 year old girl involved with a man 30 years older.
It's disturbing, yes, but why is her character the only one being maligned?
As for the "Yes, I let her have sex at 14" bit, how many members on here were sexually active at that age? If they weren't, was it actually because a parent was preventing them from having sex?
If a teen is going to have sex, they will do it, regardless of what their parents say.
All a parent can do is educate and try to set their child on the right path.
I do think the mother was burying her head in the sand a bit and ignoring a lot of warning signs, so she shouldn't be as shocked as she is by what happened.
There was a lot of denial going on.
I am just wondering why this particular story is newsworthy, though.Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.Comment

Why it's newsworthy? It's the Daily Mail - a right-wing newspaper that, although having high quality of news reporting considering the other newspapers over here, loves salacious tales. They try and pump as many of those out as possible to show their disgust with modern society.
Amusingly enough, they keep swiping at the owner of the Daily Express (similar demographic) since it was taken over by someone who earned (and earns) a fortune in the porn industry, so the Express keeps running features on how one of the previous Mail owners (Lord Rothermere? - would have to look it up) sucked up to the Nazis before WW2.
