  • SC sues over fake coupon

    Linky

Apparently a "customer" is suing Starbucks for over their refusal to honor online coupons for free drinks (which weren't supposed to exist in the first place according to Snopes).

What was the coupon--that was only supposed to be distributed to employees--for? A free drink.
"I am quite confident that I do exist."
"Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up." The Doctor

whats even more stupid, another coffee chain, caribou coffee i believe, is accepting the coupon for a free drink even though its not from them
the person could have gotten a free drink anyways! (assuming there was one nearby but still....)
even if it couldnt get used, its only a free drink!

      Link to Snopes article.

      http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/nothin...cks.asp#update

There's the link to Snopes about the coupon. It was sent by a REGIONAL manager to employees only to forward to family and friends only. In my opinion, once it was forwarded beyond that first level, it is no longer valid. It does also maintain a disclaimer of "at participating locations." So alot of the mess could have been avoided by having the individual locations decide on their acceptance policy. Most locations would choose not to participate, problem solved.

No way is this nutjob owed $114 mil.
The only words you said that I understood were "His", "Phone" and "Ya'll". The other 2 paragraphs worth was about as intelligible as a drunken Teletubby barkin' come on's at a Hooter's waitress.

It's pathetic how people will sue for the stupidest of reasons. Just sounds like a money hungry idiot to me.
