Bank robbing customer?

Wife decides to look at bank statements for her & husband and notices a $17.50 charge that has been going on monthly. Husband didn't know what it was for, so wife called bank. Found out it was for keeping their checking account at bank. But wife & husband have a special account where they don't get charged for checking. Wife thinks this has been going on for 9-12 years. Wants all money back. Bank says only 3 months.

You know if that was me I would be feeling so stupid about the fact that I didn't notice (and to be honest the fact that I don't check my statements closely means its my fault) that I would just take what they were offering!

This is kind of a case where you can see both sides and you cant really argue for one side more then the other.

If the bank says 3 months then its justified, but if they "cave" and give them a 1,5, or even 12 years worth back then everyone would probably see it as fair.
