  • Children protest gas prices.

Guh. TV isn't that important. Seriously, does one NEED cable to survive? I was playing outside all that time. We also only had 7 Channels! ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, I forget what 12 was, and Fox.

So these two girls are protesting gas prices, because their mother and father took of cable due to gas prices. Because life is hard man!

I don't know what bugs me more: the fact these kids are doing this because they want their cable back so bad, or that CBS considers this "news".

Perhaps those two girls can spend their spare time reading books and learning to spell.

Yeah well they aint seen nothing yet. Natural gas rates are at all time highs too, and heating bills are expended to skyrocket another 50 percent this winter. I wonder if they'll be out in 20 degree weather picketing the utility companies because their parents won't be able to heat the home half the time.

I've gone through times where I had no cable, so what's the big deal if those kids miss their cartoons (because mom and dad can't afford it anymore)when they could do something better like say...read a book, play outside.

Oh for dogs sake, some of us grew up on 4 channels, I supplemented my free time with creative play and reading.

          Bah, kids today!

What's sad is that when I saw the title of the thread I thought it'd be about kids whose parents are exploiting them to protest for attention and profit. It tells you something about my faith in humanity that spoiled brat girls make me feel better than what I originally envisioned.

                Same here all the way!

But I get the feeling their parents put them up to this in order to draw more attention on the issue. But that's just the misanthrope in me talking.

That makes about as much sense as me protesting gas prices because I can't afford Steve Madden and G&B anymore.....idiots.

... and how much do you bet their parents both still drive huge SUVs to and from work every day

seriously, with the exception of pushing congress to get the speculators under control the only thing that can be done about gas prices is to use less.

                      .
Its under their 'strange news', basically short clips on strange and/or funny things.
