  • More Kids Kicked Off Plane

    Southwest has done it again:

    http://consumerist.com/tag/southwest...-unruly-to-fly

Summary: Woman with 4 kids (2 of whom she admits 'were out of control') are kicked off flight.

Comments mostly in favor of Southwest too!

“The children were out of control on the flight you know, they were restless, excited and worked up and they are kids,” Slaughter told KIRO tv. "I am furious about it. I can’t believe they could do something like that and then leave us completely stranded with no money no way to get anywhere."
"Kids will be kids" is a lot like saying "Child molesters will be child molesters"--it's not an acceptable excuse for their behavior. Just because somebody is a child doesn't mean they get to run wild on an airplane, where flight attendants have to be moving through the cabin and people have to stay buckled in their seats.

Also, if she's truly traveling cross-country without any money on her--well, that's a special kind of stupid on her part.

Now I'll sit back and wait for the astroturfing to take place on PFB and other websites.

That's just what she's admitting to. So you know they were a hell of a lot worse than that.

Evil me is saying... it's a shame they weren't kicked off the plane when it was actually flying.

Southwest did the right thing. I've been flying with my son since he was 6 weeks old, now he's 4. He knows I will beat his lil' behind if he acts up like that. That's the mother's fault for not having control of her children.

A real mom would be mad at her kids, not at the airline.

I'm more amused at the fact her last name is Wendy Slaughter.

Too bad she doesn't live up to her namesake. Wendy Slaughter. Because its windy outside a moving airplane, and it be a slaughter if she did a evil parent deal and threw her own kids outside the plane.

Southwest did the right thing. Having kids running around a plane is not just annoying but a safety issue as well. The refund was in order since from what it seemed the ordeal was a one time deal, but if it's a regular thing with bratty kids on a plane, then no. I still don't get why the lady wants an apology from Southwest when SHE was in the wrong with not keeping her kids in check, disability or not.

It's an SC thing. For them, life isn't complete until the company that pissed them off begs and grovels for their forgiveness.

Oh, so I see they used the Fugazi method then.

(Fugazi is a punk rock band that doesn't like moshing and rough-housing at their concerts. Anybody who does is warned to stop, and if they continue they get hustled out of the concert and given their money back.)

Kids will be kids, but perhaps parents should be parents.

Do I need to tell the story of the misbehaved children from HELL who were right by my family and I on the way back to Minneapolis from Seattle, and their idiot yuppie mother was in first class the entire time...........she pretty much expected the attendants to watch her hellions while she sipped champagne and slept comfortably in first class.

She then had the gall to walk back to coach when the plane landed (this was when Northwest was on strike, we ended up waiting nearly an hour to get off the plane because picketers would NOT move from the gate), and complained about how nasty coach was and how their father better have everything ready to go when they got off the plane.
