Sounds like Mr. Kilcoyne needs to use the "hallow-tipped" bullet type. Those are meant to mushroom on impact, meaning they rip apart flesh INSIDE a person, which basically means if they don't knock it off and get their ass to the hospital they'll bleed to death.

Technical correction: Hollow-point. Hallow would be sacred, and while the kid was evil, I doubt he was demonic.

Check where the kid was shot. Arm, butt, and leg. No vital areas. No reason he should have died from those wounds. In my opinion, the ex-Marine knew what he was doing.

That's exactly what I thought; he wasn't shooting to kill. And if someone attacks you in your home, I believe you have every right to defend yourself up to and including killing them if necessary.

At least the marine shot for relatively non-vital areas. Maybe he figured he'd maim the kid to stop him from running and later bring him to court? That's what I'd do.

Even if you shoot someone in self defense; if you shoot them from behind and they die, it's considered murder because then you were shooting a fleeing suspect.

While I appreciate that he was protecting himself and his home, I'm hoping that he wasn't aiming to kill. We don't need an Ex-marine, retired firefighter in prison so late in his life for that. I seen those movies, they always break out.
