              Solar Eclipses are actually a very common thing, happening several times throughout the year.

              Space.com I believe, has a list of solar eclipses by date. Same with the Lunar Eclipse and the meteor showers. (Can't help it, I'm an astronomy buff)

                NASAtv.com had a cemera up to show it live. It was fun watching the solar flares till I had to go to work.
