I knew it. It's only a matter of time until the dolphins take over the world.

In fact, I'm going to cover my ass here:

ALL HAIL THE DOLPHINS IN THEIR GLORIOUS NEW REGIME!

If you have to ask, it's probably better posted at www.fratching.com

I discovered cracked.com last week (and saw that article, too) through FARK.com, which is another great site. The guy who runs it has a book (It's Not News, It's FARK! How Mass Media Tries to Pass Off Crap as News by Drew Curtis) that is quite interesting.

Good stuff. Actually, I was chatting with Greenday on IM when I read that article, and had to share the new tidbits I had just learned about the platypus

hehe...I'm watching Comedy Central and they just a commercial for some stand-up comedy show...I don't know who the comedian is but he said (paraphrasing)

"Dolphins kill just as many people every year as great white sharks...they just have a better publicist."

Edit: His name is Kirk Fox and I am no longer paraphrasing.

Your solution is simple. Just add lots of (BIG) cats.

The dolphin thing surprised me, considering they often will tangle with sharks to protect other mammals from them.

The others, nope, saw them coming. The hippo isn't much more than an aquatic rhino, I knew about the barbs on the platypus, the dingo's closest cousin? Wolves. A lot of people forget that chimps can literaly crush a mans skull when they reach a certain size. That's why you never see those size in tv shows or movies. And the best advice I can give about a swan is what was given to me: If you are within 30 meters (not feet) of a nesting swan, you are too close and they will let you know that.

I actually have the line about the platypus as an away message. The one that goes something like "spart parts on the workshop floor" blah blah.

Me too! I especially liked the part about the dingo!

Some of the other articles on that site are well worth a read, too. Good stuff!

That last line about the duckbilled platypus always makes me break out in hysterical laughter.
But my office mate also reads Cracked, so the sudden bursts of maniacal laughter don't faze him.

I always knew there was something odd about the platypus. Good plan, look as ridiculous as possible so nobody will suspect anything.
