  • You're the Governor, You Say? I Still Need ID

Bouncer in Washington State turned away the Governor because she didn't have ID.

Read the last line and tell me you'd still have a job.

Good on him, he should be congradulated for following the LAW

SHAME on the governor for thinking she didnt have to conform to the law that it is her job to uphold. Public officals make me want to shoot somethingr

EDITED: SHAME on the OWNER OF THE BAR for thinking she didnt have to conform to the law that it is her job to uphold. People who think that public officals are beyond the law make me want to shoot something.

    there we go

Kiwi, I dont understand where you came up with that.

"Gregoire says the man checking identifications at the door told her she couldn't get in without ID, even when others pointed out she's Washington's governor. So she went home, but her husband, Mike, went in.

The governor tells Seattle's KING-TV she feels complimented the bouncer thought she might be under 21."

I didnt see in there anywhere that she didnt think she had to conform to the law.

Edit to reflect Kiwi's Edit: Totally Agree with ya there Kiwi

i agree with miyon here. if this was ayoung celeb or somebody, or the child of a senator, who is OBVIOUSLY young enough to be carded, i can completely understand this. there is NO law saying that you have to be carded to go into a bar no matter what age you are. if it was company policy, i can see this. many companies are starting this policy to sell alcohol and tobacco.

i don't see how the senator was trying to break a law at all. she couldn't get in, she went home. her husband stayed. wheres the harm in that?

are so jaded that anytime we think that somebody may be doing something a little wrong, that we jump down their throats with it?

While the managers reaction seems to reek of suckiness, I can sort of understand where he's coming from as the Governor quite likely appeared to be considerably older than 21.

What it depends on is if the establishment cards everybody, which I don't think they do because the manager would hot have made the comment he did otherwise. At the same time, I applaud the bouncer for wanting to play it safe.

Also since the governor had no issue with it, the manager has no reason to punish his bouncer.
