Man fights movie theater 'injustice,', lands in jail
Someone posted this on another forum I visit and I thought I'd share it here. What is staggering is the fact that the guy has no idea why what he did was not reasonable or acceptable.
I have to say I would expect a refund for a projection malfunction. I went to see Dark Knight and the projector overheated and we had a 5-10 minute gap. Didn't miss any of the film, but it messes up the experience a bit. Took the cinema 3 or 4 minutes to notice, and get someone in to explain. Then they suggested people go to the bathroom if they needed to (great film - but very long, so plenty of people were having to pop out in it) and then 1 minute later said it wouldn't take that long after all, and the film came on. Some people had been about to leave, others did go (before or after the announcement) and for the next 5 minutes people kept walking back in even though the film was playing again.
When we left there were members of staff at each door handing vouchers to see a film free on the next visit.
I think that was the right thing to do. I think if they hadn't done that I might have asked, and if they said no I might even have written to the head office.
But I wouldn't throw computers.
And if I lost my temper and did throw a computer (which I really can't imagine) I'd understand why I wasn't in the right, and wouldn't try and claim I was fighting injustice when arrested.
There's just something about that story that really summed up the SC attitude to me.
ETA - apologies for posting in the wrong place, and thanks to the Mods for moving it.
