Don't know about Cher's acting, haven't seen any of her recent (last 10 years?) stuff... but still. I have to agree with StanFlouride and lordlundar.

Not to mention Depp as Riddler. Great, so we'll have Sweeny Sparrow dressed in green tights.

(Just a snark on their choice, not on his acting. Love Depp, but as Riddler? Ugh.)

I doubt there's any truth to this. The article also says it begins production early next year in Vancouver. There isn't even a freakin script yet.

Maybe somewhere, sometime Nolan said he'd like Cher to be catwoman, but who even knows if there's gonna be a catwoman in the new movie.

I've seen it mentioned, and I agree: I think Crispin Glover would be great as Riddler.

Maybe it'll be like Catwoman, in the Old Villains home, recounting her days as a villain and the flashbacks are of an unknown actress playing her in her heyday?

Well, we can always hope that's the explanation.

As for Depp as Riddler? I wouldn't mind it. I loved him in Benny & Joon so we know he can do comedy.

Cher could either be really good or really bad as Catwoman. It all depends on how they portray her.

Nolan says that he wants Cher to portray Catwoman like a vamp in her twilight years, old, mad and decrepit.

When Nolan wanted to cast Heath Ledger and the Joker, he got a lot of flack. People said nobody could out-Joker Jack Nicholson. But look what Heath did with it!

Cher does happen to be an Oscar winning actress. When she's given good material, she's great.

I'm interested to see what they do with her.

and hmmmm johnny depp riddler.... i could almos see it just cos he's kinda crazy. and cos i usually forget it's *him* when i'm watching one of those Pirates movies or sweeny todd, so maybe he'd be good?
