I once packed a box about three feet cubed with books from our "donate" stash, and then slid the actual gift wrapped in tissue paper down the side. It was a cool gift, a build-your-own video game kit, but it was so small I didn't feel that the original package was impressive enough. She knew I was excited about that one, and it was so huge and heavy she was shocked to get a li'l bundle of tissue paper. She thought it was hilarious. Of course, her next gift was a soldering iron, so she could build the kit.

Setting the prank up wasn't so evil, but how they reacted to the kid's pain was nothing short of emotional abuse.

Okay, I gotta say, in my ever so humble opinion, that is an awesome prank ...

... PROVIDED an actual X-Box appears around 10 seconds after the box is actually opened. Sure, stun the kid, drop his spirits, make him go "Huh?". But give him the danged x-box before he bursts into tears! Done properly it can be funny and harmless prank. These parents? Prank FAIL.

That's just wrong man. I mean I don't think it's wrong the kid to not get an X-Box but don't give the kids hopes up and then laugh at his misery!!!
