  • MIT pranks through the years

    http://www.boston.com/news/local/mas...0308_mit_hacks

This makes me giggle. I love it.

I really wish I'd worked harder in school. I probably could have gone there if I did.

Although the ex was attending, and a year ahead of me. So perhaps not.

I have a friend who graduated from MIT, so I'd heard of a lot of these.
There's a lot of rivalry with Harvard as well as it's literally just down the street.

Aww they didn't show the one where they stole one of those LED street signs that usually say like "Detour ahead" or "Work zone," and programmed it to say "Harvard Sucks Dick!"

        "Hacker's Delight"

Well the article is called Hacker's Delight so i thought it would be a bunch of computer pranks.

Nope... it's a bunch of really funny physical pranks done at MIT. I'm still debating on my favorite... Turning one of the building domes into R2D2, or turning one of the statues into "Chief" from Halo... ... i'm still wondering how they did that one too.

I just returned from a delightful trip to Boston.
Conversation of the MIT pranks is given in most tours of the city.
Like the time they set all the lights in a building to look like the game tetris.
They took an item from cal tech (it may have been the canon) and when Cal tech wanted it returned they were told they would have to come to campus and go through lost and found.

My oldest younger brother went to MIT as well as my co-worker Darlene and her husband who also works at the software company.

More than once the dome has had a nipple placed on it and referred to as the "The Great Breast of Knowledge."

Another good one was the invention of the Smoot as a unit of measure.

A list of recent hacks can be found on the MIT official web site here.
The best karma is letting a jerk bash himself senseless on the wall of your polite indifference.

The stupid is strong with this one.
