  • You must bring me a shrubbery!

    It's Monty Python Fluxx!

For those who enjoy Fluxx. For those who enjoy Monty Python! It's the love child of the two entities! Monty Python Fluxx! Order it either online or at your local gaming store (which is the preferred method of course!)

Must Order! Must Order! Must Order!

By the way, you need to edit the link. It has one too many "http://" in it.

and now a dilemma... do I tell my gaming club about this, or secretly buy it and just turn up with it one week?

I have ordered this, I should have it by next Friday.

Me: "I was wondering if you have the Monty Python edition of Fluxx."
Game Store Guy: "as far as I know that doesn't exist. Let me look it up..." (goes to computer, types) "Here we are... 'Buy this or I shall taunt you a second time'... cool! Now, does our regular supplier have it... yes! I'll get one for you and a dozen more for the store."

Whoa!!! Your Gaming Store Guy didn't know it didn't exist?? Loony Labs sent it to us with a copy of the House Edition. (We'll lend it out to customers to play to see if they want to buy it). But then again, Fluxx is one of the biggest card games we're always selling so our distributor knows to suggest it if we don't know about it.

The most popular games around here are M:TG, D&D and L5R, and people tend to ignore everything else.

(Although there is a small "Let's play Yu-Gi-Oh because it's crap!" crowd)

I guess that makes sense edible_hat.

Where I'm at, we have a large range of gamers. We have Battle Tech players, Warhammer players, D&Ders, CCGs (Magic & Yu-Gi-Oh! with some World of Warcraft thrown in). So that's what I'm used to in gaming stores.

I picked my copy up yesterday (a whole 2 days before the original ETA). My favourite card is "I Want To Sing" but that might change after I've actually played a few games.

I might go down to my Gaming Store and pick up the House Copy and play it.

Taking it to my games club tonight, so in about 12 hours I'll be able to let you know how it plays.

edit: It plays quite well, if you're playing with Monty Python geeks. Normals just get confused. And it's not a good idea to combine it with other Fluxx games unless you want a chance to say "MY BRAIN HURTS!" and really mean it.

                          some quotes from the game:
"What if you already have an outrageous accent?"
"Well it has to be an outrageous fake accent, so your normal voice doesn't count."
(changing to fake Scottish accent) "So now can I play an extra card?"

"Awww, and I didn't even get a chance to sing Sit On My Face."

"You can still use a silly voice, it just doesn't give you an advantage anymore."

"I could have played Opening Credits and won myself, but I thought it was funnier to let him win by giving you the shrubbery."
