Poop ice-cream (mild grossness)

The warning is only just a mild one because nobody expels bodily fluids.

Basically, wife claims that she was fed ice-cream made out of human faeces, now she wants an investigation.

I think it sounds like a freebie grab. She didn't give any of it to the hotel or the health inspector to test.

What makes it sound like a freebie grab is the following:

-she didn't provide a sample of what SHE had eaten for testing by the hotel, rather she used an "independent" source, which could be possibly biased.
-the hotel claimed that she was after $1 million AUD in hush money (for US people, that's about $600,000 USD)
-she was given the ice-cream as compensation for seating diffculties at lunchtime.
-the fact that nobody else smelled it...human faeces, frozen or not, has a very distinct smell as everyone knows. Having spent a lot of time in child-care centres doing work experience, I can tell you that poop has a very distinct smell.

The only bonus is that the hotel has quarantined the ice-cream for further testing...I'll keep you folks updated on this saga.

Strange.... so somehow (the article said the ice cream they had tested negative) feces managed to get into only one bowl of ice cream, without touching any of th utinsels used to get it out.... yet it wasn't obvious it was contaminated..... and she won't let anyone test it but her own people.....

If the stench was that bad, it had to of been fresh, and possibly warm -- I think it would've stuck out a lot before she had even put it into her mouth. I'd almost be betting she didn't wipe properly and ate her own crap if anything. Although it seems more likely she's just wanting money.

A few years ago at the custard stand I received a phone call from a very happy-sounding woman announcing that she'd found "human excrement" in a milkshake served at one of the stores in our chain. She just wanted to complain to someone else and we were next in the phonebook apparently. She kept using the phrase "human excrement" over and over, which made me inwardly ponder her expertise at determining turds' origin. Above all, she sounded so damn happy, probably figuring her shitshake was as good as a lottery ticket with the right lawyer.

Long story short, the "human excrement" turned out to be a cherry. It's also worth mentioning that this happened to be a cherry shake. I imagine she was rather ironically disappointed to learn that she hadn't ingested any fecal matter, and thus was not getting any easy money. Guess she wasn't such a turd-identification expert after all.

TV reports keep changing, they're now conveniently leaving out the $1 million hush money demand and that the ice cream was compensation for another problem.

ETA: Just heard another report that emphasised the possibility of fakery. Apparently they were sitting at a table covered by CCTV which shows "nothing unusual". They didn't say if the complainants have a comment on that but they did say the penalty for faking the incident would be worse than the penalty the hotel will pay if it did happen.
