I also had a sweater dress; remember them? Like a sweater stretched down to your knees. XD Also, a global hypercolour t-shirt.

Come on, own up; how many of you owned a shellsuit?
I still have two of them I just found amongst my clothes when I was cleaning out and rearranging stuff (closet was just repainted.)

I was still wearing both of mine on occasion (usually in the fall/early winter) up until maybe fall before last . . . mainly because I couldn't find them.

Oh, and I still miss those big teased hairstyles. Just not practical now . . . I have a hard enough time keeping one side of my hair out of my eyes.

I agree, acid washed jeans were great and "jean jackets" were great - they were warm, comfortable, and tough.
And, unlike the jeans of today, our jeans back in the 1980s actually covered our arses!!!

I did have a sweater dress. I wore it with a wide belt, pegged jeans, boots, and...get this...a beret. I had a whole collection of different color wool berets.

Those actually looked kind of cute on top of ratty Bon Jovi hair (like I had.)

I didn't have to work all that hard to get big hair, and my hair was not so big and teased as it was long and ratty. It was teased, but not to outrageous heights. Just to make it look really, really messy and tousled. Then it was tipped or streaked in pink, gold, or purple mousse, and frequently I had a couple of thin braids plaited with brightly colored ribbons tangled up in the mess. Hell of a lot more fun than the boring but respectable shaggy cut I have now.

I did NOT have a shell suit. Shell suits are not metal.
