  • My Story in A Thousand Faces!

My short story "Noble Calling" is in A Thousand Faces this month. ATF is a journal that only prints superhero fiction (how cool is that??) and they have amazing stories every single month.

So why are they printing me?

      ...

That's an incredible story. Great characterization, and the description is *exactly* what is needed. Not too much, not too little.

I would probably buy a book about a character like Heron. I definitely want to know more about her, and Eidolon, and that mystery drug. Are there others like them? How does it work? Is it still under development?

Is there a Nemesis, a Villein who has also been produced by the drug?

      Gah....imagination run wild...

Thank you very much! If you have time read "Bridge Club", the first story in the contents; it's pretty great!

"Noble Calling" is actually an old story from about 5-6 years back. I never expected it to get published and was shocked when Frank Byrns e-mailed me with an acceptance. Heron was a character I created for a superhero RPG; I never ended up playing the game but I came up with a decent story, so it was worth it!

I haven't written anything else about Heron and Eidolon, but I think eventually I would like to write some interconnected short stories about them and expand their world. Right now though I have my new novel and a new short story and a project where I'm rewriting Japanese folktales and setting them in my novel's world, so if there is more to Heron and Eidolon it will be a while coming. I'm really glad they interested you that much, though!
