Poor baby kitty

I usually read cnn.com at work. This morning, I saw the headline that just made me sick to my stomach. I had to immediately navigate away from the page all together. My coworker who is a bit braver than I went back and watched the video for me to tell me if the little guy was still alive. He is, minus one leg.

After she viewed it and said he's alive, I got the courage to watch the clip - and I had the headphones. You can hear the little guy purring up a storm!

Animal (and child) abuse just sickens me. They didn't say if the teenage perpetrators are in trouble, but they did get caught by someone who rescued the kitten.

There just aren't words to describe those teens who would do something so cruel.

When I watch that show on Animal Planet, the animal cops, (cant remember the right title) I only watch the last half hour. I cant watch when they find the animals in terrible shape, abused, starving etc.
The second half usually shows the recovery and adoption when the animals all happy again.

People really dont deserve to be the dominate species.

I swear CNN is running out of news since the election is over. Last night they were talking about how a lady is divorcing her husband due to catching him on second life having avatar to avatar virtual sex with a online prostitute.

I didn't know they had a happy second half. I've watched the show a couple of times and had to turn it off within five minutes. Seeing tortured cats, beaten dogs, horses with ribs sticking way out...I just can't. It's horrifying how some people treat their animals; clueless at best, utterly savage at worst.

Just because animals don't talk doesn't mean they don't have feelings. That poor kitten had to have been terrified and in agony. He was probably purring in the video because he felt safe and comfortable in the hands of that kind vet.

I hope they charge the perps and put them in a cell full of animal lovers.

Oh - and I saw that piece on the woman divorcing her husband because of online virtual sex with a prostitute on Second Life. Funny thing, the end of the story states that she is now seeing someone she met on WOW. I think she just went over the top on the "virtual affair" so that she could have an excuse to leave and persue her little boy toy.

With the rampant use of cellphones to video tape themselves doing stupid stuff, I don't blame you for that worry. It's probably already on YouTube somewhere, if one wanted to look for it.

I really hope that the teenagers are prosecuted to the fullest extent - my idea of a just punishment would force them to work at an animal shelter for several months (6 - 9 months).

I think they should have an animal abusers registry like sex offenders registry (but nothing would stop someone from taking an animal off of the street). The only drawback would be that it would most likely be abused (just like the sex offender's registry).

I'm glad that the kitten is expected to make a full recovery and I'm sure that the animal hospital would have no problems adopting out the kitten (even if no one who works there would want to take it).

Personally, I hope those miserable scum-sucking little bastard shits suffer as much misery as what they put that poor kitty through. Words cannot convey how much loathing I feel for animal abusers.

(And because I have a special spot for cats, I would like to see done to them what the Ancient Egyptians did: you hurt/kill a cat, you DIE. (And the ancients had some pretty icky and creative punishments, too...! That scene in the first Mummy movie where they cut out the priest's tongue and mummify him alive with scarab beetles before burying him alive? Yeah, that kind of stuff actually went on, kids.))

I... I don't think I can watch it. Just READING about it is horrible. How could someone do something so cruel? Especially to a creature as sweet and helpless as a kitten! That's just... insane! A rational human would never do something like that.

It's one of the signs of being a sociopath. Torture and killing small animals etc etc. I'm just glad kitty is doing fine, and is most likely going to get glommed to heck and back, with more luvs and noms than it can shake it's tail at.

The vet was correct....if they do that to an animal....who knows how they treat each other.
