I don't think the article was too clear - Michael and Wiremu are guilty of murder, the mother is guilty of manslaughter.

It's pretty much the same around the world, it's kind of funny because no matter how their moral compass differs from ours, or some of the terrible things they've done, most criminals absoloutley despise child abusers and rapists.
