"Proven"? It's a joke. I don't think there's anything to prove. The framing as if it actually happened to someone is just part of the joke. Like "Once there was this guy who ..."

I hate to say this, but having been to the Summit Ridge store before and seen how some of the customers act I wouldn't be that surprised if that weren't legit
especially considering the zip code that guy supposedly lives in (I have friends who live in that zip code so I'm practically required to make fun of it )
