  • 'New fashion standards for men'? In WHAT universe?

Who can afford this crap?! Over $900 for a stupid sweater? $10,000 for a watch?! Sorry, but if I knew a guy was spending this much money on such stupid things, I'd drop him pretty quick!

You know if I bought a $1000 trenchoat my first thought wouldn't be "Damn I look good in this", but rather "I can't believe I blew $1000 on this!"

Honestly, I think even if I had money I wouldn't go such excesses. I've never had seen any reason I would possibly need a pair of sunglasses worth more than $100.

I'm willing to shell out a little extra money for some things, like a good warm coat or nice pair of shoes ($187 is a tad much, but not all that bad considering....)

But $900 for a ONE SWEATER??? In this economy?? I can get 40 sweaters at Old Navy for that!!!

And $10,000 for ONE LOUSY WATCH? You can get a new fucking car (or a decent used one) for less!!! I bought my watch at Target for $15.00 and it's a damn good watch.

And what on earth is a tie bar?

            that's laughable

people are loosing their jobs, their houses but make sure you have a snazzy watch to go with your snazzy coat

don't worry about silly things like feeding yourself or keeping a roof over your head...

who needs that when you LOOK good

Or as I'd like to say: "For $10,000 that watch better come with an engine, cabin, seats, and four tires"

Holy crap! Are there people in this world that can afford that? I sure don't know any of them. I don't think I've ever even seen any of them!

Like most of the people who post here, even if I could afford it I wouldn't pay $900 for a sweater! That's simply stupid.

I know that my dress watch is fairly expensive, it's a Bulgari, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't cost that much, it was a birthday present though so I can say I didn't spend anything on it.

Sure, the things look nice....but at the price they're charging for those items, they had better be made out of solid platinum.

Seriously, how can anyone possible spend that much on clothing? Thats wasteful to an utterly grotesque level! The clothes are nice, sure, but does slightly nicer mean it needs to cost 50x as much as clothes I can get elsewhere? I can get some nice shirts for $15, pants for $20, and so forth. The only thing I'm a bit expensive on are shoes and jackets, but those will last for many years, and by expensive, I mean in the $60-75 range.

                        Draggar's sunglasses: $20 (Wallgreens)
                        Draggar's sneakers: $25 (Target)
Draggar's good shoss: $80 (Red Shoe Barn 7 years ago)
                        Draggar's work shoes: $30 (Target)
                        Draggar's tie: I don't even wear one

Not having a care about what the fashon world thinks about me: priceless and a snobbish attitude towards them.

They forgot to add '...who are so damn rich they can afford to buy these overpriced clothing items'

Seriously, even if I became rich, I wouldn't be spending my money on such an overpriced wardrobe. I never understoof the whole 'status symbol' mentality anyways, I believe if you're going to buy something, you should buy because *you* want it, not because it's trendy or because everyone else has one.

Well, it's GQ, the bible for metrosexuals with far too much disposable income.

I'd be afraid to wear a $10,000 watch. I'd feel like I had a yacht strapped to my arm and I didn't want to scratch it.
