Am I a pathetic person cause that made me cry?

I did kind of the same thing when I was young. I was six and had been begging my parents for a pet. I knew I couldn't handle a big dog on my own and didn't want a little one, so I begged my parents for a cat.

On my birthday they took me to our local Humane Society, fully expecting me to pick out one of the many kittens and bring it home.

But I fell in love with this big, fluffy, orange and brown persian cat. The people at the Humane Society weren't sure how old he was, but he wasn't a kitten. He'd been on the streets some, so he had a few scars and part of one of his ears was gone.

But I loved him and I wanted him. No matter what anyone did to try and get me to adopt a different pet (they said he was "mean"), I wanted THAT cat. So my parents finally said "okay, that's the one she wants, that's the one she gets."

Pippin (that's what I named him, not the Humane Society) came home with us and was my very very faithful kitty for fifteen years. He died just before my 21st birthday, in his sleep. Our vet estimated he was probably between five and seven when we adopted him, so he lived to be twenty or twenty two. He was the best cat ever and I never regretted picking him.
I am Wolverine.............and Wolverine does not do high kicks.

He was a hero to me....and heroes are not supposed to die.

Oh good, my dog found the chainsaw!

It made me cry too! What a sweet story. And what an awesome person Cameron is likely to grow up to be. Big kudos to his aunt who helped make it happen, too!

              Reminds me of Snow...

She'd been at the shelter (well, the pet store, anyway) for months, and nobody wanted her. There was nothing wrong with her, other than she was deaf. She was very playful, wanted to cuddle, and was very sweet. Oh, and she was only 2. Yet, nobody wanted her, because she was 'defective'

I'd just lost one kitty (back in October '07), and wanted another. Still, with her hearing loss, I wasn't sure what to expect. I read up on it, adjusted to what she'd need, and in the end...brought her home. She lived with me 6 months before her death last April. She had a heart attack, but at least there was no suffering

She seemed very happy to be home, and would spend hours curled up next to me or on my lap in that beat-up recliner, or staring out the kitchen windows into the back yard, or playing with toys...
