Actually, that headline is misleading, which makes it more a case of irony than karma.

The way the headline is written, it looks like the member of some bike theft ring got his own bike stolen, but the man actually a city commissioner, who had been working to prevent bike theft.

He stopped to help at an accident and someone stole his bike.

The irony goes even further, because part of his plan was to have a citywide registration of bikes to help the police track them, but he hadn't even registered his own.
