Two things.
When I pulled up the link there was an ad for gamevance with duck hunt, with a picture of a man with a rifle, bad ad placement.

The 'kid' was 17, in my opinion he was more mentally disturbed then just a game junky. He planned the killings for a couple of weeks. Its sad for his parents but that kid was messed up.

it's probably not intentional. the crawlerbots just see all the game words and just automatically put up gaming ads.

The article mentions he planned to make it look like a suicide by putting the gun in his fathers hands.

Clearly this shows he knew not only what he was doing, but had no problems with doing it.
