I have no doubt that at least a few of them will be donning blue and yellow as it gets closer to springtime. I'm with you, though. I hope everybody gets back to work rather quickly (except the execs that FUBARed CC in the first place, I think they need to suffer a bit for being dumb)."Sigh, I'm going to Hell.....but I'm going with a smile on my face." -- Gravekeeper

We get no severance at the store level unless we are a WARN store, and most of us are not.Quoth Diablo View PostConsidering how much they got paid, and assuming that they will get severance packages, the clowns that put CC in this position will not have to worry about getting a job anytime soon.
And yes, it's been fun being able to sound off on how we really feel. OUR particular liquidator kind of gave us the green light on that.

I never really liked CC but it is sad to think of all the people who are losing jobs.
As for the prices, I saw it when Linens and Things went out.

By "the clowns" comment, I think Diablo meant the suits up at corporate. Bet you anything THEY'RE getting their severance -- and it's their stupid policies that drove the company under!!Quoth PezzleWe get no severance at the store level unless we are a WARN store, and most of us are not.Quoth Diablo View PostConsidering how much they got paid, and assuming that they will get severance packages, the clowns that put CC in this position will not have to worry about getting a job anytime soon.
Those severance packages should go to the innocent people just doing their jobs, not the idiots making the bad decisions!

Everyone seems to have this love-hate relationship with the place, including the employees. The stores seem to be a hit or a miss. Some corporate policies did suck, and yes a lot of us tried to bend them from time to time when someone had a legitimate problem. Ringing people up on separate transactions to use multiple coupons for instance.Quoth draggar View PostI never really liked CC but it is sad to think of all the people who are losing jobs.

I have walked into a Circuit City store and found the employees to be blithering idiots. Hell, it happened in my store a lot. I was the go-to girl so to speak... if nobody knew the answer, they would find me, radio me or even call me at home!
I never could stand it when people would presume I knew nothing and I'd spew knowledge like a fountain. If I didn't know the answer, I'd look it up for the customer and bend over backwards for them.
A red polo doesn't mean I am in high school NOR does it mean you can treat me like dog shit and it also does not mean I have the IQ of a black pudding.
The job fucking sucked at times. It also fucking rocked when I slipped away from the sales floor into the warehouse (we have a very large warehouse). Circuit City was like family at the store level, and it's the only place I've worked that had that precise feeling. Best Buy felt sterile, and at Staples I was surrounded by illiterate high school kids. Circuit City... I'm FRIENDS with almost every single one of my co workers.
I'm going to miss it. I'm going to miss them, I'm going to miss driving my Raymond Order Picker, I'm going to miss racing on flatbed carts and trying to punch through the Horton Hears a Who cardboard display... -sniffle-
I'm feeling sad again.
