Great, they only noticed not because he didn't have any ID on him, nor any of the normal kit but because he was missing one portion of the uniform, and only then at the end of the shift!

... that it wasn't actually a police officer he was attempting to imitate by wearing a police officer's uniform into the police office?

... that was wasn't really trying to suggest to anybody that he actually *was* a police officer by wearing a police officer's uniform, walking into a police station, and going on patrol with a 'partner' police officer?

I mean really, what possible basis is there here? Maybe temporary insanity. LOL
