  • So you think your IT person has an attitude? It could be you..

Just a quick (longish) rant at why so many IT professionals may seem to have an attitude towards their users.

    Enjoy.

    How true.

I was doing unpaid support (fairly minor issues) for a family friend until she started taking major advantage of this. I approached her about signing a contract at the beginning of what is a moderate digital clusterf$ck (the best/quickest way to solve her issue would be to remote in, but to her that's the ultimate privacy violation), and got the impression that she thinks I should be doing this "out of the goodness of my heart"....not when I have to travel an hour each way on top of figuring out what the guy down the street did wrong (why did you take it to him anyway?). Yes, times are tight for everyone, but I have expenses too (you should be lucky I charge you as little as I do).

Psssst your post title is misspelled... you don't mean "hink" do you?

Also, forwarded to my long-suffering IT guy. He got a chuckle out of it.
