Flight 3407 Crash

I post this because I've got a freaking-out coworker. I don't have all the details yet because the poor woman is almost hysterical, but her daughter, who lives in Rome, NY, was supposed to be on that flight, and somehow managed to miss it. I've gotten the notion somehow that it was a bare squeaker that she did, too.

Another person on the plane was Beverly Eckhart, who lost her husband in 9/11 and was apparently on her way to a celebration of what would have been his birthday.

The whole thing is just terrible. Even for such a low death toll, the facts that have come out make this seem so much more horrific.

I have a co worker who lives in that area and she hasn't been on email all day.

small world, my uncle lives in Pittsford NY. His wife missed her flight that would have connected with Flight 93 on 9/11/01.

That place just seems to have the best luck with people missing flights at the right time.

The plane's at 2,300 feet, and the pilot doesn't manage to get off a mayday as it goes down? I've a suspicion that this may have been pilot "error" (if you call dying, or something like that, error) as well as mechanical difficulty.
