  • A Touching Classic . . .

    . . . made AWESOME.

WHERE WAS THIS WHEN I HAD TO READ IT IN HIGH SCHOOL DAMNIT.
Personally, I find cleavage very helpful. In a crime-fighting sense.

Meh, I don't think the classic novel would mesh well with zombies. Not that I have anything against zombies in general, and certainly not during that time period, which on it's own would be awesome. But I think for Pride and Prejudice, werewolves would be the way to go.

While I really like werewolves, I think vampires would be the best for the classics. I can just see them flitting about through the Ton, the always eligible bachelor or heiress, pale, but attractive by candlelight, flirting and seducing their way through society. If their spouses happen to die after only a year or so, well, that's life, and they're right back on the marriage market.

Actually...both of those sound interesting. The vampires sure have the elegance...but what about a heir who inadvertantly got himself bit while hunting on the summer property?

Well, they already did Romeo and Juliet with Vampires and Werewolves (Underworld), so how well do you think the others would turn out?

Vampires are only acceptable when they're the classy, sophisticated type.
Gun-toting vampire whores piss me off. Way to miss the point, Hollywood.
Excuse me, good sir paladin, can you direct me to your EVIL district?

Above and beyond any other redeeming characteristics, the cover is AWESOME.

                  I like the author description:

JANE AUSTEN is the author of Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, Mansfield Park, and other masterpieces of English literature. SETH GRAHAME-SMITH is the author of How to Survive a Horror Movie and The Big Book of Porn. He lives in Los Angeles.

See...they had a good idea there, but the execution just failed miserably.

No thank you. I have had quite enough daintily fainting limp-wristed lords and ladies with smouldering eyes and tragic secrets to last me a lifetime. The Twilight fandom -- specifically, the mother and daughter who tag-teamed me once in a bookstore when they overheard I thought the books were "just okay" - has soured me on it. They're a dime a dozen.

Bone crunching action. I doubt it's meant to be serious anyway.

That is not P&P at all. Elizabeth Bennet is anything by limp-wristed. But Twilight is horrid.
