  • Screwed, blued, and tattoed at Circuit City

-----When I was there I thought EXACTLY about what could happen if I got one of those "discounted" big-screen LCD or plasmas. I wasn't that impressed with their prices anyway.

I had the same exact issue with Linens and Things. I bought a George Foreman grill "new" (sealed in the box) and it was defective out of the box - they refused to do anything about it.

It's the same liquidation company, too. Odd how they're above the law and are allowed to sell defective and used products as new.

I also saw a story how they raise all of the prices, some to above MSRP and then give "discounts". A new team did a study of two Circuit Cities - one in liquidation and one not. They noticed that most proces (far majority) were much higher in the store being liquidated plus the store being liquidated was busy while the lower priced non-liquidated store was a ghost town.

Yep, I noticed myself that their prices on their TV's aren't the best, even with their "xx percent off" tags attached to them. Don't buy from them.

These stores aren't Circuit City anymore. Yes, the signs all say Circuit City, the employees still wear Circuit City shirts and name badges, the receipts still say Circuit City, everything still says Circuit City but it's not - these practices are all from the liquidation firm.
