Whether he knew or not, that's an exceptionally rude thing to say to someone.
1129. I will refrain from casting Dimension Jump and Magnificent Mansion on every police box we pass.

especially when your business depends on said religion (the hotel is on church land!)

          Um, wow:

The incident was deemed so severe, Christopher Cowdray, head of the London-based Dorchester Collection, which owns the Palace, flew here to hand Leuenberger the pink slip.
Not just fired, but fired directly by the CEO of the corporate chain. I hope to never piss off someone that badly unless I do it to their face.

What could be worse than the CEO doing it personally is this: being fired and told that you would never be hired by them, any sister companies, or be allowed to be hired even if the company was bought out - and was banned from all company properties for the rest of her life. No one knows exatly what she did... but it had to be bad.

Rumor was, however, that she stole a few million -- as as soon as she was fired, she dropped a huge sum of money (a million or so) in cash to buy a business, property, build a new building, and hire 20 employees virtually the next day, bought a quarter million dollar house, and a new car (and she was in a 25k/yr position before that, kind of a "do the math" situation). Considering she had been fired from all her previous positions as well..... one bad cookie there.
