Wow that article really leaves out one major piece of information.

HOW LONG WAS SHE THERE. Think about it, she went complaining of vaginal pain and bleeding (there are probably a hundred possible causes) and then they were unable to examine her due to too much pain and a pregnancy test was ordered but never done, then she goes to the bathroom where the baby is delivered (god bless the little soul). Was she only there 5-30 minutes before going to the washroom (not enough time for any tests really) or was she there for hours where they could and should have done tests. Whether or not there were time for tests would very much color my opinion for this.

Good for the baby that she has a distant relative to care for her and isn't under the care of her obviously unfit mother.

ETA: The mother isn't suing the hospital, another person is on behalf of the child.

yeah i'm thinking they hadn't even completed the tests before she popped her baby out in the toilet

not sure why anyone is trying to sue the hospital, unless he figures he'll be able to secure funds for the child from them... obviously the mom's not going to have any real cash to take

I agree that the time there should have been shared. My thoughts are that she may have been going to get a urine specimen so that they could run a preg test? Thats how most ERs work. They get so many abdominal pain complaints from females that this is usuallyalways the first test done.

          Either way...its just weird.

i dont know unless she came in in an ablulence most likely she waitied in the er triage area for awhile before a doc even looked at her. i almost side with the suit they should have though she was pregnant right away and not alloud her to go to the bath room.
