  • David Eddings Passes Away at 77

    http://sffworld.com/news/614.html

David Carradine is getting most of the attention, but legendary fantasy author David Eddings also passed away today. I have not yet read any of his work (I never read any as a kid) but my husband, a longtime fan, is very sad.

Been expecting it for a while. I loved the Mallorean and Belgariad. Kept me entertained for a long time, but after the Rivan Codex I realised just how old he was and therefore it was likely there wouldn't be much more from him.

I'll miss him, even though I never met him.

Waiting on Piers Anthony now - he's getting on.

I recently listened to the Belgariad and the Mallorian as an audio book. I've read it before, and they make a wonderful series. I haven't read any of his other books yet though. I may have to look some more up.

All the really good sci-fi and fantasy authors are going away, and I'm not seeing any of their caliber to fill their shoes.

        He will be missed.

I hadn't heard yet...a wonderful author. I've read all but 1 of his series and have loved them all.
