The sense of entitlement involved is astounding.
Many moons back, when a chum was staying with me for a couple of nights, I received an email from someone wanting to advertise their site on here - a links page sort of request. I took one look at his place and blinked. It was less than a week old and it effectively just put links to other peoples' works or embedded other peoples' videos. One such video involved two girls and one cup - if you don't know that one and have a weak stomach, don't google for it.
My response was two fold. First, we don't have a links page. Second, there's no damned way I'd suggest people visit a site that had no original content and especially one who displayed videos of that nature.
Oh, he was irritated. Yes, as chum said my reply was snotty, but for some reason I was holding his (small) website down by ignoring and not helping him up. Apparently the reason he put videos like that up was so that he could 'show people' what sort of things were available on the Internet.
Yeah, right.

not much makes me gag
but i caved in one day and decided to see what all the fuss was over those two girls.
i stopped the video before i puked
i'm thinking... for hte original letter, hell let him sue and waste his money
The only thing funnier than that was a story i read one day about well known companies stealing photos.
http://www.niallkennedy.com/blog/200...hotograph.html
Microsoft themselves had linked the photo and was using it in their advertisements.
so... he switched the photo to one of um... extreme mooning (goatse) and where the photo would be um, offensive, he posted the "Creative Commons circle logo" in reference to Creative Commons licensing rules.
it's kinda sad he had to go that far to get them to stop. that they wouldn't reply to requests to stop... that he had to put up something shocking in order for them to leave his photo aloneLast edited by PepperElf; 06-14-2009, 12:52 PM.
