        Here's one from the city where I live. It's the library at Biltmore House. If you notice the chicken in the ceiling painting, don't make note of it or else the docents will pounce and recant everything they know about how roosters are linked to the goddess Aurora because she's the goddess of the dawn and roosters crow in the morning... or some such.

        Not that I'm bitter.

            Who knew one of those was in my backyard.

            Need to go do some work on the family trees anyway. *Plotting trip to Seattle*

            And the rest of those are stunning. I would love to plan a vacation just to see those places

              Wow. Imagine spending the day reading in such a beautiful place.

              So many of them have absolutely beautiful ceilings (except Library of Parliament, Ottawa, Canada, which has a beautiful floor!). And the lovely furniture, and endess rows of stunning wood bookshelves...

              Any of those would be heaven to a bibliophile like me!
